Family: Those who stand by and take care of each other. No matter what. This is the philosophy that the Lucas’ stand and live by. This is also how they met.

Years ago, Jim’s mom needed care and he discovered Debbie’s first home; Margaret’s Adult Family Home. Debbie had been caring for 4 resident’s alongside her three young children. After marrying, they built a home together and continued caring for those residents and their children, in addition to two more. Debbie decided to continue her education and earn her RN.

Following this, she decided to close the AFH to pursue a career with Horizon Hospice and, for a short time, worked as a school nurse.

Both workplaces were valuable in their teachings and continued to highlight Debbie’s gift for caring for those in need. Coupled with Jim’s gift to support and encourage, they desired to open another adult family home. Nurse Debbie’s AFH.
